Marilyn Bailey Foundation (MBF) is a charitable program that promotes courage, compassion, and excellence for and in the immigrant community. MBF partners with 501(c)(3) organizations to recognize immigrants and generational immigrants by providing awards and scholarships for their outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the community.
Marilyn was a passionate and successful copy editor at Minnesota's Star Tribune for over 35 years. She was a brilliant, brave, and compassionate woman - most of the time, the first and only woman in the room at every stage of her journalism career. After retiring, she went on to dedicate her life to supporting new immigrants and their families during their transition to the States. Marilyn passed away in April 2020. MBF seeks to honor her groundbreaking achievements, her indomitable spirit, and most importantly, her willingness to love, celebrate and support those who were different from her. Through MBF, we hope to inspire more "Marilyns" in the world!
